the Klone Party, a celebration of all things 'Clone'.

The late 70's/early 80's saw the clone look arising from the gay scene. The look was very macho, sexy, the ultimate manly man. Tache's, tight white t-shirts, leather chaps open at the crotch and arse, revealing a tight pair of Levis underneath, to enhance and show off the masculine muscular physique to the max. This look was glorified in the drawings of 'Tom Of Finland' and is inspiration for our party poster. The clubs at the time were a heady mix of sex, cruising and dancing the night away to Hi-NRG music, whilst being high on poppers. The sounds of New York producer Bobby O, famous for his collaborations with low budget movie, female impersonator 'Divine' shuddered around the dance floors, as did Man 2 Man meets Man Parish's smash hit 'Male Stripper' which embodied the whole clone scene...Hi NRG music was king, the 'fan dance' was the days 'vogue', poppers the days 'ecstasy'...clubbing was a very horny experience. Today Hi-NRG has become Nu-NRG, or handbag; even trance anthems give a nod to the original early 80's sound. Today’s leading NRG record label is fittingly called 'Klone Records', and this is where 'The Klone Party' comes in. A night celebrating the sounds and looks of the clone scene, bringing it bang up to date with the current sound and artists of the NRG scene.

So join us on the night, get those leather chaps out of the cupboard, get practising the fan dance (or watch and learn as we present our mate George, who on the night will be presenting a 'master class' in all things fan dance), start growing that moustache (or cheat and grab a stick on one from us on the door on the night!), dance yourself dizzy on 2 floors, to the original Hi-NRG tunes, as you realise how dull the current R & B dominated charts are, and go crazy to the new NRG anthems from our favourite record label 'Klone' whilst grabbing yourself some freebie CD's on the night from our very special guest PA's, the current prince and princess of NRG , Jason Prince and Jacquii Cann.
